Past Improvement Projects

Through the years, ABC has been pleased to help fundraise and contribute funds to a number of capitol improvements at MCHS.

This began in 2012 with the Adopt-a-Tile Program.

MCHS’s Fiester Auditorium has beautiful ceiling tiles that suffered severe damage from ceiling leaks, leaving students a less than ideal “classroom” and a less than pleasant space for community members attending performances.

Through a massive campaign, ABC fundraised to replace the ceiling tiles. The effort was helped by a very generous donation from an anonymous donor.

Rick Uebner, President of the Mariposa County Schools Foundation gives ABC representative Carol Hart a check for the Adopt-a-Tile Program in October 2013.

The damaged ceiling tiles were replaced with new ones at the end of the 2015-2016 school year.

In summer 2016, before the start of the 2016-2017 school year, MCHS’s Fiester Auditorium received a new roof! This will take care of water leaks and protect the beautiful original ceiling tiles, plus the replacement ceiling tiles that were installed thanks to the efforts of ABC and your generous donations.

The refurbished ceiling gives students a classroom they can take pride in and one that is more conducive to learning. It also makes seeing performances in the auditorium more enjoyable.

Marquee

In 2014, ABC donated $2,401 toward the digital marquee thatMCHS Marquee is now in use in front of the high school. The marquee is programmed weekly to announce the many events of the week, helping to keep students and the public informed of all that is happening at MCHS. There is always an amazing amount happening!

Stage Lights, Microphones, and Flooring

In 2014, ABC contributed funds of $7,000 plus in auditorium stage lighting upgrades and directional microphones for the stage. ABC also furnished the special flooring needed especially for the dancers, but to help with all performances.

Display Case

In 2014, ABC purchased a glass display case for auditorium entrance. Now event posters can be viewed immediately and prominently upon entering the high school and before entering the auditorium.MCHS Glass Display Case
